Tyrosinase is a copper containing enzyme present in plants that catalyses the production of melanin and other pigments from tyrosine oxidation.

It is found inside melanosomes which are synthesised in the skin melanocytes.

Products with the Tyrosinase Inhibitor will reduce the enzyme Tyrosinase from over stimulation so there is no overproduction of pigment in the skin.

Tyrosinase inhibitors will correct hyperpigmentation and reduce it from overproducing, but it does require continued use.
