New Zealand Fashion Week 2011

This year Verdo Nails was the Official Nail Gurus of this years Fashion week.  We had the privilage of working along Magic Tan and Beauty based in Remuera (the only other salon we recommed).

This years Fashion Week was a huge undertaking, not only did we plan of doing the nails for ALL the designers but we were going to run a full functioning manicure bar, aswell as having a makeup artist on site offering full make up, designer eyebrows etc.

After months of planning the week finally arrived, after attending the M.A.C opening party (which finished at around 10pm on the Monday night) we had the huge task of setting up our manicure bar.  At 1.30 am we had finished, ready for the week that was beginning.

Tuesday morning arrived and we were all ready to go, we had a full staff on of 12 ready for the week ahead.  Tuesday was our biggest day show wise with Coop, Black Luxe, Andrea Moore, Juliette Hogan and Hailwood.

Wednesday shows were Ruby, Celine Rita (we managed to get to see this show aswell), Jimmy D, Lonely Hearts and 2 Trelise Cooper shows.

Thursdays shows were Whirl, New generations (which was a few up and coming designers), misteR and Sable and Minx.

Friday was a HUGE day, we were doing the nails for the WORLD show which included the 3 finalists for New Zealands Next Top Model, the backstage team spent nearly 7 hours prepping each model (there were 25).  Also on Friday we had Kathryn Wilson show to prep for aswell.

We were blessed with meeting some amazing people including Colin Mathura-Jeffree not once but twice.   I had the pleasure of Minx’ing Colin on Friday before the live Finale of NZ Next Top Model.

We also met and MAN-icured Jordie from Youth Empire TV.  We chose him a nice bright colour to wear for the week.

Overall Fashion Week was a HUGE success, it was a hard and very tiring week, but we have been asked if we will be there next year and YES, we will definitely be there next year just much bigger and better.
